LED Street Lights

About LED Street Lights

  • The primary appeal of LED street lighting is energy efficiency compared to conventional street lighting fixture technologies such as high pressure sodium and metal halide. Research continues to improve the efficiency of newer models of LED street lights.
  • Unlike traditional street lights, the light source of these lights is LEDs. They are normally referred to as integrated lights simply because their fixture and luminaries are a single part. During the manufacturing process, sealing of the LED light cluster is done on a panel before assembly to the LED panel is done. Sealing (the step that makes it an integrated system) is done using a heat sink.
  • Different streetlights consume different amounts of energy. Incandescent lamps typically range from 25-150 watts, fluorescent lamps range from 18-95, metal halide lamps range from 50-400 watts, and high pressure sodium lamps range from 50-400 watts.
